The URL Risk API enhances online security by evaluating and categorizing potential risks associated with websites. It offers detailed insights to help users ensure a safe browsing experience. For example, when analyzing a site like "google.com," the API examines various parameters to determine its security status, overall reputation, and specific risk factors.
Upon receiving a request, the URL Risk API typically responds with key metrics such as security status, reputation scores, and child safety ratings. These metrics provide a comprehensive view of how a website is perceived in terms of safety and trustworthiness. The security status indicates whether a site is classified as "SAFE," "UNSAFE," or falls into other risk categories, which is crucial for applications that need real-time evaluations to shield users from malicious sites.
Reputation scores, derived from extensive databases and machine learning algorithms, are a core component of the assessment. They consider user interactions, historical data, and threat information to gauge a site's reliability. A higher reputation score suggests a more trustworthy site, while a lower score signals potential issues. For instance, a reputation score of "94" would denote a highly reputable website, assuring users of its reliability.
In essence, the URL Risk API is a robust tool for evaluating the security and reputation of websites. With real-time risk assessments, reputation analysis, and child safety ratings, it equips organizations to protect their users effectively. Leveraging this API helps create a safer online environment, enabling users to browse with greater confidence. As online threats continue to grow, the URL Risk API serves as a critical asset in strengthening cybersecurity and fostering trust in digital platforms.

Besides the number of API calls per month, there are no other limitations.
The Risk Detection endpoint returns data on website safety, including safety status (e.g., "SAFE"), reputation scores, confidence levels, and child safety ratings. It also categorizes the site into various risk categories.
Key fields in the response include "target" (the analyzed URL), "safety" (with "status," "reputations," and "confidence"), "childSafety" (with similar metrics), and "categories" (listing risk categories with IDs, names, and confidence levels).
The response data is structured as a JSON object containing the target URL, safety metrics, child safety metrics, and an array of categories. Each category includes an ID, name, and confidence score, allowing for easy interpretation.
The endpoint provides information on website safety status, reputation scores, child safety ratings, and categorization of risks, helping users assess the trustworthiness of a site.
The primary parameter for the Risk Detection endpoint is the URL of the website to analyze. Users should ensure the URL is properly formatted (e.g., "http://example.com") for accurate results.
Data accuracy is maintained through the use of extensive databases and machine learning algorithms that analyze user interactions, historical data, and threat information, ensuring reliable reputation assessments.
Typical use cases include integrating the API into web applications for real-time website safety checks, enhancing browser security features, and providing users with safety ratings before they visit a site.
Users can utilize the returned data by interpreting the safety status to block or allow access to websites, using reputation scores to inform users about site trustworthiness, and leveraging child safety ratings for parental controls.
